| In the mountain ranges of the Himalyas, one is going to come at close range with one of India’s oldest cities, Dehradun.
From all corners of India the tourists come in droves, along with a bevy of pilgrims and enthusiasts. For some reason, there really is something about this city, the land of special Basmati rice, tea and leechi gardens.
First and foremost, tourists have to secure a map of Dehradun before anything. Then the journey commences, first at Tapkeshawar Temple. Afterwards it is off to Robber's Cave or Guchhupani, an ideal place for a picnic.
After that wondrous place, the stage is set for Sahastradhara. Standing for the “thousand fold spring”, Sahastradhara is packed for the falls and caves near the Baldi River among other things.
Some kilometers away from the city, the famous temple known as Laxman Siddh comes into grand view. Other temples of note are ChAndhrabani, Sai Darbar, Santala Devi Temple and the Tibetan Temple. |
