Tamilnadu Tourist Map

When in India, Tamil Nadu should beckon at one point or another. Going out and getting a tourist map of Tamil Nadu for the next trip is inevitable anyway.

First and foremost, the city of Chennai is raring for one’s attention. After all, this city boasts of the historic Fort Saint George, which houses a fascinating collection of Raj memorabilia.

It is a telling legacy of the British colonizers, any more than St. Mary's Church which happens to be the first English Church in India.

From the blessed repose of the Christian churches, the odyssey of Tamil Nadu proceeds to grand, godsend Hindu places of worship.  The shore temple at Mahabalipuram is exemplary, thoughtfully sculpted from a single rock. Another temple to be in is the revered Meenakshi at Madurai, which represents the apogee of Dravidian architecture, what with its numerous gopurams.

Then the untamed beauty of Tamil Nadu opens to the hilt in the longest beach in the world, Marina Beach. For all of 13 kilometers of sandy stretch from Madras to seemingly beyond the very fringes of the world.

If the idyllic charm does not drive the point home, then a trip to Kodaikanal, “The Princess of Hill Stations" is in order.   Before departing from this paradise, we are not leaving without the famed Kanjeevaram silk saris in tow, something to snug some memories.
