At any rate, 262 kilometers from New Delhi is an outlying location. We are talking about Jaipur is the state Rajasthan. But nobody is seems minding. Such a seemingly remote spot is made very accessible. Jaipur is well connected by road, rail and air. There is something about Jaipur that, even, is made capital of Rajasthan.
A map of Jaipur is a good, helpful accessory – thank you. But no place which claims to a moniker like “Pink City” that is difficult to locate. Jaipur holds the distinction of being called such for creating an illusion of red sandstone buildings of Mughal cities.
Jaipur is home to the largest of the five conservatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh II from 1727 to 1734, the Jantar Mantar – held as an architectural tour de force. Here lies the wonder of a culture enmeshed in theory, superstition and religious beliefs that prodded its intellects to build structures to prove astronomical observations -- long before the rest of the world cared about its constellations.

Jaipur have set sights far beyond the horizons, and near as well. The local attractions are well taken cared of. Not quite all “pink” but all rosy just the same: the Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace, the Royal Observatory, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Sisodia Rani ka Bagh, among many others.
