Where thrones were once fought with valor and sacrifice, to this day, Chittaurgarh possesses ethereal mystery. A map of Chittaurgarh may not show it manifestly but interesting historical attractions are marked just the same, for good directions.
Well-visited is Vijay Stambh, a nine-storey tower erected between 1458 and 1468. Inside, the popular episodes from the two great epics -- Ramayana and Mahabharata are depicted. So-called “The Tower of Victory,” a structure antiquated by ravages of memories, times and, yes, lightning still draws curious ramblers – because there simply is a promise of a mystical feel after climbing through the narrow 157 steps.
