Rajasthan Ajmer Map

A Guide to Maps of India

The blessings of Ajmer are splendidly spelled in its lakes.  Albeit man-made circa 1135-1150 AD, Ana Sagar Lake is stunning just the same because of the rolling hills surrounding it.

And on its banks rest a beautiful park, the Dault Bagh -- such fine a spot that strollers treasure every idle time spent here.

In any map of Ajmer, there appears like an exciting trail because further up the valley from Ana Sagar Lake is another breathtaking body of water, the Foy Sagar, where any trekker is afforded of a panoramic view of the picturesque countryside down the hill.

Ajmer is also a fortress all its own with the Taragarh Fort in its turf.  At a steep one and a half hour climb beyond the Adhai-din-ka-jhopra leading to magnificent views of ruins, the challenge of reaching here is daunting -- but these are some of the things rewarding in Ajmer.

One can gain ample satisfaction with any excursions from Ajmer where the glorious Rajasthan monuments, ruins and shrines are wonders in waiting.  First off, there is the tour the architectural wonder that is Kishangarh Fort.  The drive proceeds where the historic corridors echo with spiritual aura, in Roopangarh Fort.

If anything, one should consider the annual Holi procession in Beawar, some 50 kilometers away from Ajmer --far but worth the trip, if only for the feel of the glowing expression of the true Rajasthan festive spirit.
