Situated at the Sahyadri mountain range, as the map of Pune would affirm, Pune is not amiss with attractions, be it ancient or modern, or something in between.
Opulence is surely something ingrained in Pune. One of Pune’s attractions apparently is the Agha Khan Palace.
Also known as the Kasturba Smarak, this palace was built in 1892 by Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah Agakhan III and was donated to India in 1969 by Aga Khan IV.
History is never lost here. Pune’s post office also is decadent in every way.
Referred to as the Vishrambaug Wada, this is a three-storied resplendence for one and all. Another decadent structure is the 18th century palace called the Shaniwar Wada. |
