Goodness never wavered as today Nasik is renowned as India’s Wine Capital, a result of the unsurpassed profusion of grapes the city produces. For that, Nasik has earned the cachet of Grape City. In tradition though, Nasik is of repute as Gulshanabad, standing for “the city of roses”.
A map of Nasik would show that Nasik is located on the banks of the Godavari River, on the western edge of the Deccan peninsula.
Interesting sites parade as a road map of Nasik would show their locations. Many of these interesting sites are the very grounds Lord Rama walked upon. For one, there is the Someshwar Temple, believed to be where Lord Rama stayed during his exile.
The same Hindu deity used to bathe at a place called Ramkund, which is still extant. Look no further for Chambar Leni, Kalaram Temple, Muktidham, Naroshankar Temple, and Anjneri. |
