A Guide to Maps of India

Still referred to around the world as erstwhile Bombay, the city of Mumbai is India’s most populous. On any level, it is also one of the world’s most populous locations, with a populace numbering around 20 million.

Where the people are, the fun must be swelling, as well.

Supreme as India’s economic fulcrum, the city is situated more or less on Salsette Island, off the west coast of Maharashtra, according to any map of Mumbai.

Business and pleasure is here – however the itinerary calls for.

As the financial capital, Mumbai is host to the most important financial institutions, such as the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and the base of India's largest companies.  Mumbai is also one of the primary gateways to India, the port of entry to a third of all international trade.

And Mumbai wows with bucks.  No other city on the Indian subcontinent is home to more millionaires. Being in Mumbai is to be in the company of stars because the city is also the unparalleled home to India's immensely prolific film and television industry, known the world over as dazzling ‘Bollywood’.

For all the glitz of the Bollywood state of mind, the streets of Mumbai are congested with cattle, carts and motor vehicles.  Notwithstanding these, it can offer some sense of vibrancy that is uniquely, famously Mumbai.
