A Guide to Maps of India

On any level, Kerala is truly God’s own country. For a place no larger than a narrow strip of land between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghat mountains, no one would have thought about this.

But then again, its people are a slip for all to see that Kerala truly is not god-forsaken. The society of Kerala is one of India’s most advanced, ranking the most literate.

Kerala offsets its deficiency in monuments more than one would think. As God’s Own Country, Kerala’s drawing cards are natural in the main, ones not created by human fingers. For good measure, the natural wonders here are cuts above the rest.

To wit, Kerala has India’s finest beach resorts. As seen on the map of Kerala, the state’s coast is a 600 kilometer-long path to heaven, lapped by the Arabian Sea.

Every waterborne whim can be done at Kerala’s behest, what with its world-class and pristine beaches in Malappura, Kozhikode and Kasaragod. Most of all, at home in Kerala is arguably India’s best, Kovalam Beach.

From the perspective of a good tourist map of Kerala, one would also see an enormous maze of waterways in a heartbeat. These are none other than the infinitely popular backwaters of Kerala. Especially in Kuttanad, these backwaters are made up of rivers, lakes, canals and estuaries. One has to make it a point to navigate its stretches on the houseboat.
