Never mind that Kerala is one of the smallest states in India, spread at only over 38 square kilometers.
Kerala’s physical features captured by three interesting regions – the highlands, coastal lowlands, and the fertile midlands, seem other worlds waiting for exploration.
Along the coast, Kerala is waterlogged with a convoluted network of backwaters and the deltas of forty-four rivers. Due to this, Kerala is rife with vast forests of coconut trees, only to be interrupted by stretches of paddy crops. It’s a vista of wonderful greens, with the hush of gentle breeze to seize a blissful moment.
Deeper inland, the midlands of Kerala beckon. Punctuated here and there by isolated hills, Kerala’s midlands seem to be valleys without end. Crops and vegetables are unfalteringly harvested here. Kerala is as agriculturally fertile as it gets. |
