Sikkim is a state in the North Eastern part of India. It is an enthralling state in India that enjoys tourists all over the year. This airport is situated at a radius of 124 kilometers from the city of Gangtok and is only 11kilometers to the west of Siliguri. Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, Jet Airways and various other airline providers offer air connectivity to this enchanted land. Sikkim is well connected with Delhi and the other prominent cities in India. The Bagdogra airport is accessible from Siliguri by means of a taxi ride. A helicopter ride connects the airport with airport.

Railways: The nearest railway station is the New Jalpaiguri. Numerous super-fast and express trains run from New Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahat to New Jalpaiguri. You can take a taxi to Gangtok. There are jeeps allotted on sharing basis to reach Gangtok.
Roadways: You can reach Gangtok from Darjeeling.

It is recommended to take heavy cars or jeeps as almost all the areas are hilly areas. You can hire these for sightseeing purposes as well as excursions. You can see the local people moving in bikes or scooters to reach small distances.

On the highway you can see private taxis, jeeps as well as land rovers that are available regularly. There are government tourism bureaus to take care of transportation. A tourist’s trip is ensured to be relaxed and comfortable. However, the local agents easily organize the transport. Though initially you may find the prices to be expensive, the charming valleys and mountain roads make you feel you were wrong.
