Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary
It is situated in the northeastern parts of the state near the Anini headquarters established on the Upper Dibang Valley. It is spread over a large area of about 4149 sq km and the best time you can visit this wildlife sanctuary is winters, i.e. during the month on November till the end of February.
Eagle's Nest Wildlife Sanctuary
Located in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh, this place covers an area of 217 sq km and is a happy abode of various animals like elephants, serows, tigers, gorals, leopards, red panda and sambars. The vegetation here is rich and the scenic beauty of the place will take your breath away. The best time to visit this place lies anytime between the months October to April.
Sessa Orchid Sanctuary
This establishment is located towards the extreme north eastern edge and has very beautiful and attractive lush green environment. The diverse flora and fauna sheltered here can be seen roaming freely. It is named as Sessa Orchid Sanctuary because of the rich orchids that have bloomed here in profusion. The best time to set your foot here is between October and April.
Daying Ering Memorial Wildlife Sanctuary
All the wildlife sanctuaries in Arunachal Pradesh have been established keeping in mind the geographical features and the weather conditions of the state which helps in maintaining the strong ecosystem in these habitats. It is beautiful wooded alluvial lowland which has a small part of it covered with water and thick woods. This wildlife sanctuary shelters various migratory birds along with different water animals. |
