A Guide to Maps of India

Somewhere in this side of the universe the hallowed grounds of nature hearken. It is called Himachal Pradesh, a state in India at the periphery of the omnipotent Himalayas.

While a map of Himachal Pradesh does not tangibly showcase Himachal Pradesh in all its glory, seeing the state in the flesh and sap eventually ends in enchantment.

For all one knows, Elysium is somewhere here, with its rolling meadows, wide valleys, limpid lakes, gushing streams and bountiful orchards.

If anything, Himachal Pradesh is the site of the Valley of the Gods, Kullu. Rudyard Kipling himself has said of Kullu, "Surely the Gods live here; this is no place for men."

The famous hill station of Manali is located atop this valley, as does Chamba, reflecting the lavishness of Himachal Pradesh’s feral beauty.

Another hill station to be is Dalhousie. Shimla can hold its own as a hill station, being the capital and all.

In Dharamsala’s case, the cosmos of the Buddhists ever stirs in restlessness amidst prevailing solemnity and silence.

The vale of Kinnaur alone makes for an exciting sojourn to one and all. Whether one chooses to trek its skyscraping heights or just flit around the orchards and vineyards, Kinnaur is never the same show twice.

Eventually, visitors come face to face with Rohtang Pass, beyond which lay the surly frozen deserts of Lahaul and Spiti.
