Gujarat Kachchh Map

A Guide to Maps of India

Kachchh is a peninsular district and, in fact the largest in Gujarat – thus remote in location.  One look at the map of Kachchh shows that its west shores are lapped by the Arabian sea.  Looking further, creeks and tidal marshes in Kachchh form part of the Indus delta.

That Kachchh is seemingly isolated makes a trip to this part of Gujarat a sojourn.  The kind that one traveler needs to plan and arrange.

Knowing Kachchh, with its inexhaustible breeze, the district and its sights fit well for a lighthearted vacationer.

Anybody who had a breezy break in Kachchh will utter that it will be a worthy stopover.

There is a welcoming air blown by the sea breeze and exuded by the mostly seafaring citizens.  There is a way of life in Kachchh that is blithe and rustic, reminiscent of the secluded seaports and private docks.

An amble elsewhere in the Kachchh can lead one to the centers of some of Gujarat's finest handicrafts like embroidery, tie-dyed fabrics and enameled silverware.

But behold for what lurks magnificently in the distance, the Bhuj.  The district is home to The Aina Mahal, an 18th century royal palace where Gujarat’s oldest museum, the Kachchh Museum is situated.
