All having their own lure are the equally beautiful beaches here: Ahmedpur, Mandvi,Chakratirath, Jallandhar, and Gomtimata.
Starting from the nearest railhead, in Delwada, some nine kilometers from Diu, the fascinating attractions are lining up like lovely ladies-in-waiting: Shaking Tower, Gupta Prayag, Diu Fort, Gangeshwar Temple, and Forte do Mar.
The latter is an undeniably striking sight, a massive fort built by the Portuguese. Lest the presence of a vintage, massive fort can overwhelm you, Diu is best enjoyed by feeling the island breeze sweep right through your sun-kissed cheeks, a sign of a pleasant climate that lingers in island the whole year through.
Golden sand beaches and dense palm-groves surrounding -- exquisite destinations like the diminutive island of Diu, are made of these. |
