A Guide to Maps of India

Pardon the sights and sounds and what fascinate the senses when in Bihar what easily come to mind are the wonders of Buddha and his legendary enlightenment, which he attained in the small village of Bodh Gaya.

For this reason, Bodh Gaya merits a prominent presence in the tourist map of Bihar.

And we make no fuss about it because Bodh Gaya is regarded to this day as Buddhism’s ultimate pilgrimage destination – a “holy place,” as a matter of fact.

As an affair of reverence, it followed then that Bodh Gaya became the center of study of the early Buddhist schools in India for 700 years.  A great monastic University once stood here as a testament to that legacy.

What remains in Bihar today are ruins of 14th century temples, shrines and monasteries.

Tourists who are keen of discovering distinctive cultures will find his days filled with these enthralling sights.

The modern traveler has a lot of researching to do.  It might actually take time before it hits him that the grounds of Bihar are made for things that makes well – spiritually and intellectually.

Otherwise there are Hundru, Jonha, Dasamghagh and Hirni – not to reckon seriously, they are rhythmical names of waterfalls in Ranchi, Bihar’s favorite summer destination.
