It’s the irony of it all that makes Bihar a worthy side trip.
In case we don’t know, the River Ganges lays bare in the center of Bihar, and it might interest one to stop and dip with the occasional crowd of devotees doing their religious rounds.
If one takes time to unroll a road map of Bihar, the ‘good points’ are displayed: South of Patna was founded the world's first university of Buddhist Learning, in Bodh Gaya, now a famous pilgrimage site; in the neighborhood of Bhagalpur district lie ancient cave sculptures dating about 274-232 B.C.; and, there are ancient architectures of the Gupta period at Sultanganj.
Possessing the finest climate, the countryside is well laden in Ranchi. The serene landscape welcomes the cascading noise of waterfalls tumbling here and there. |
