A Guide to Maps of India

Tradition has it that all the attributes we see in modern-day Bihar -- the culture, economy and personality of the people all sprung up from the bounteous Ganga river.

And any serious explorer would think so.  On a closer look, the state displays a very long and illustrious history steeped in the tradition of the River.

For the curious, that is something to find out, and the excitement can be overwhelming.

In all other aspects – most especially the authentic Bihar culture, the uncovering of fascinating things are unlimited.

For one, kingdom after kingdom rose and fell in ancient Bihar, with legendary battles transpiring in between.

For history buffs, discovering the remnants of the early people’s struggles makes for a worthy trip, notwithstanding whatever inconveniences attached to the prevailing times.

As one would in other important Indian destinations, a trip to Bihar is a study of the people’s spiritual fervor.  Certainly not one to be found on a district map of Bihar, religion has always played an important role in the life of its people.

For one, we are eager to feel what Buddha must have felt when he said to have attained his Enlightenment in the town on Bodh Gava in the modern district of Gava Mahavira.  Bihar must be something.
